Gartner reported Tuesday financial results for Q2, with better-than-expected earnings and revenue that fell short of analysts’ estimates; it also provided guidance for fiscal 2017. The information technology research and advisory company posted adjusted earnings of $0.88 per share, compared with the prior-year period’s $0.75 per share. Analysts polled by Capital IQ were expecting EPS of $0.84.
Revenue was $843.7 million, up 38% from $610 million in the same quarter last year. The Street view was for revenue of $892.6 million. The company expects fiscal 2017 EPS of $3.32 – $3.49 on revenue of $2.42 billion – $2.47 billion. The Street view is for EPS of $3.48 on revenue of $3.39 billion
